HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS REP. BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 25, 2019 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Absent/Excused: None. Representative K Hertel moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 24, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Leutheuser introduced his daughter, Clara with her husband Michael and their four children, to the committee. Representative Wentworth introduced his daughter, Alexa Wentworth to the committee. The Chair laid HB 4095 before the committee: HB 4095 (Rep. Reilly) A bill to amend 2006 PA 110, entitled “Michigan zoning enabling act,” by amending section 102 (MCL 125.3102), as amended by 2008 PA 12. Representative Wentworth moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4095. The motion prevailed 7- 4-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth. Nays: Reps. Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Pass: None. Representative Reilly, Representative Lower, and Representative Howell testified in support of HB 4095. Questions and discussion followed. Jen Rigterink, representing the Michigan Municipal League, testified in opposition of HB 4095. Questions and discussion followed.
