PAMELA HORNBERGER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, April 30, 2019 9:00 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Education was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hornberger, Paquette, Crawford, Vaupel, Reilly, Hall, Markkanen, O'Malley, Wakeman, Camilleri, Sowerby, B Carter, T Carter, Koleszar, Stone. Absent/Excused: None. Representative O'Malley moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 23, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4269, HB 4270, HB 4271 and HB 4282 before the committee: HB 4269 (Rep. Griffin) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code,"(MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1278f. HB 4270 (Rep. Griffin) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," by amending sections 1278a and 1278b (MCL 380.1278a and 380.1278b), section 1278a as amended by 2018 PA 232 and section 1278b as amended by 2018 PA 230. HB 4271 (Rep. Howell) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," by amending sections 1278a and 1278b (MCL 380.1278a and 380.1278b), section 1278a as amended by 2018 PA 232 and section 1278b as amended by 2018 PA 230. HB 4282 (Rep. Hauck) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," by amending section 1278a (MCL 380.1278a), as amended by 2018 PA 232. Representative Griffin, Representative Hauck, and Representative Howell testified in support of HB 4269, HB 4270, HB 4271 and HB 4282. Questions and discussion followed.
