- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON COMMUNICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGY REP. MICHELE HOITENGA CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, May 1, 2019 12:00 PM Room 327, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Communications and Technology was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hoitenga, S Johnson, Wozniak, Coleman, Chirkun. Absent/Excused: None. Representative S Johnson moved to adopt the minutes from the April 17th, 2019 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4249 before the committee: HB 4249 (Rep. Hoitenga) A bill to amend 1986 PA 32, entitled “Emergency 9-1-1 service enabling act,” by amending section 413 (MCL 484.1413), as amended by 2008 PA 379; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. Representative S Johnson moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 4249. The motion prevailed 5- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoitenga, S Johnson, Wozniak, Coleman, Chirkun. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Coleman moved to refer House Bill No. 4249 to the committee on Ways and Means, with recommendation as substitute (H-2). The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoitenga, S Johnson, Wozniak, Coleman, Chirkun. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card neutral to HB 4249, but did not wish to speak: Jordyn Sellek, representing the Conference of Western Wayne. Amanda Fisher, representing the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Michele Hoitenga adjourned the meeting at 12:04 PM.
