PAMELA HORNBERGER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 14, 2019 9:00 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Education was called to order by the Chair Hornberger. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hornberger, Paquette, Crawford, Vaupel, Reilly, Hall, Markkanen, O'Malley, Wakeman, Camilleri, Sowerby, B Carter, T Carter, Koleszar, Stone. Absent/Excused: None. Representative O'Malley moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 7, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the following presentations before the committee: Michigan School Counselor Association Michigan Association of School Social Workers Michigan Association of School Psychologists Judy Williams, Michigan School Counselor Association, testified regarding school mental health services. Questions and discussion followed. Donna Secor Pennington, Michigan Association of School Social Workers, testified regarding school mental health services. Questions and discussion followed. Dr. Amy Campbell, Michigan Association of School Psychologists, testified regarding school mental health services. Questions and discussion followed. Chris Glass and Bob Szymoniak, West Michigan Talent Triangle, testified regarding school mental health services. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Pamela Hornberger adjourned the meeting at 10:18 AM.
