- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. JASON M SHEPPARD CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 11, 2019 9:00 AM Room 308, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Government Operations was called to order by the Chair Sheppard. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Sheppard, Cole, Lilly, Rabhi. Absent/Excused: Rep. Greig. Representative Lilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 4, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4694 before the committee: HB 4694 (Rep. Lilly) A bill to amend 1980 PA 300, entitled “The public school employees retirement act of 1979,"by amending section 61 (MCL 38.1361), as amended by 2018 PA 482. Representative Lilly and Chris Glass, representing the West Michigan Talent Triangle, testified in support of HB 4694. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4694, but did not wish to speak: David Zuelke, representing the Middle Cities Education Association. At 9:06 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 9:07 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Representative Lilly moved to report out HB 4694 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 4-0-0. FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Sheppard, Cole, Lilly, Rabhi. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Rabhi moved to excuse Representative Greig from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Jason Sheppard adjourned the meeting at 9:08 AM.
