The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Byrd, Neeley, Hertel. Absent/Excused: None. The Chair laid HB 4446 before the committee: HB 4446 (Rep. Calley) A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled “Michigan campaign finance act,” by amending sections 5, 9, 12, 21, 24, 34, 41, 51, 54, and 55 (MCL 169.205, 169.209, 169.212, 169.221, 169.224, 169.234, 169.241, 169.251, 169.254, and 169.255), sections 5 and 41 as amended by 1999 PA 237, sections 9, 24, 51, 54, and 55 as amended by 2017 PA 119, section 12 as amended by 2001 PA 250, section 21 as amended by 2015 PA 269, and section 34 as amended by 2012 PA 277. Representative Lilly moved to adopt substitute (H-2) to HB 4446. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Marcia Hune, representing the Life Insurance Association of Michigan, testified in neutral of HB 4044. Matt Wesolek, representing the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents, testified in neutral of HB 4044. Matt Solak, representing the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Michigan, testified in neutral of HB 4044. The Chair laid SB 0294 before the committee: SB 0294 (Sen. Zorn) A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled "Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act,"(MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 13h. Representative Kahle moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to SB 0294. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Senator Zorn, and Representative Webber, introduced the bill to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Senator Zorn testified in support of SB 0294.
