The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Calley, Sheppard, Hornberger, Marino, Paquette, Guerra, Hope. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Sheppard moved to adopt the minutes from the June 12th, 2019 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4642, HB 4643, HB 4644, HB 4645, HB 4646, HB 4647, HB 4648 and HB 4649 before the committee: HB 4642 (Rep. LaGrand) A bill to regulate political activity; to require state representatives to file financial statements and reports; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state officers and agencies; to impose fees; to prescribe penalties and civil sanctions; and to provide remedies. HB 4643 (Rep. Filler) A bill to regulate political activity; to require state senators to file financial statements and reports; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state officers and agencies; to impose fees; to prescribe penalties and civil sanctions; and to provide remedies. HB 4644 (Rep. Calley) A bill to regulate political activity; to require candidates for the office of state representative to file financial statements and reports; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state officers and agencies; to impose fees; to prescribe penalties and civil sanctions; and to provide remedies. HB 4645 (Rep. HB 4649 (Rep. Rabhi) A bill to regulate political activity; to require members of and candidates for the state board of education to file financial statements and reports; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state officers and agencies; to impose fees; to prescribe penalties and civil sanctions; and to provide remedies. Representative David LaGrand testified in support of HB 4642, HB 4643, HB 4644, HB 4645, HB 4646, HB 4647, HB 4648, and HB 4649.
