- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. JASON M SHEPPARD CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, September 17, 2019 9:00 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Government Operations was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Sheppard, Cole, Lilly, Rabhi. Absent/Excused: Rep. Greig. Representative Cole moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 3, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4687 before the committee: HB 4687 (Rep. Hoitenga) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act,"b y amending sections 40102 and 40111a (MCL 324.40102 and 324.40111a), section 40102 as amended by 2015 PA 24 and section 40111a as amended by 2015 PA 265. Ted Nugent, Representative Hoitenga, and Senator VanderWall all testified in support of HB 4687. Questions and discussion followed. Amy Trotter, representing the Michigan United Conservation Club, testified in opposition to HB 4687. Questions and discussion followed. Dave Wheeler, representing Michigan Lucky Buck, testified in support of HB 4687. Representative Rabhi moved to excuse Representative Greig from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
