BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, September 17, 2019 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by Chair Iden. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Neeley, Hertel. Absent/Excused: Rep. Byrd. Representative Warren moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 10, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4406 before the committee: HB 4406 (Rep. Markkanen) A bill to amend 2008 PA 525, entitled "Fostering futures scholarship trust fund act, "by amending section 7b (MCL 722.1027b), as added by 2014 PA 530. Representative Lilly moved to report out HB 4406 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 10-0-0. FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Wentworth, Warren, Neeley, Hertel. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4406, but did not wish to speak: Dan Jarvis, representing the Michigan Family Forum. The Chair laid HB 4710 before the committee: HB 4710 (Rep. Kahle) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 16215, 16322, 16501, 16511, 16521, 16525, and 16529 (MCL 333.16215, 333.16322, 333.16501, 333.16511, 333.16521, 333.16525, and 333.16529), section 16215 as amended by 2005 PA 211, sections 16322, 16501, 16525, and 16529 as added by 2006 PA 30, section 16511 as amended by 2006 PA 397, and section 16521 as amended by 2010 PA 79, and by adding sections 16513, 16515, and 16517.
