MICHELE HOITENGA CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, September 18, 2019 12:00 PM Room 327, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Communications and Technology was called to order by the Chair Hoitenga. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hoitenga, Steven Johnson, Wozniak, Coleman, Chirkun. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 4, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4801 before the committee: HB 4801 (Rep. Reilly) A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled"Michigan consumer protection act,"by amending section 3 (MCL 445.903), as amended by 2018 PA 211, and by adding section 3j. Representative Reilly testified in support of HB 4801. Representative Reilly testified in support of HB 4801. Adam deAngeli testified in support of HB 4801. Roy LangolfCommander Dennis Hoffman, testified in support of HB 4801. Katerina Klawes testified in support of HB 4801. Carl SzaboNetChoice, testified in opposition of HB 4801. The following people submitted a card in opposition of HB 4801, but did not wish to speak: Colleen Daley, representing the Internet Association. Merissa Kovach, representing the ACLU of Michigan. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Michele Hoitenga adjourned the meeting at 12:57 PM.
