LYNN AFENDOULIS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, October 23, 2019 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Tax Policy was called to order by Chair Afendoulis. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Afendoulis, Lower, Vaupel, Webber, Farrington, Steven Johnson, Hall, O'Malley, Schroeder, Yancey, Wittenberg, Ellison, Lasinski, Robinson, Whitsett. Absent/Excused: None. The Chair laid HB 4171 before the committee: HB 4171 (Rep. Alexander) A bill to amend 1967 PA 281, entitled "Income tax act of 1967," by amending section 30 (MCL 206.30), as amended by 2018 PA 589. Representative O'Malley moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4171. The motion prevailed 15- 0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Afendoulis, Lower, Vaupel, Webber, Farrington, Steven Johnson, Hall, O'Malley, Schroeder, Yancey, Wittenberg, Ellison, Lasinski, Robinson, Whitsett. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Lower moved to refer House Bill No. 4171 to the committee on Ways and Means, with recommendation as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 15-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Afendoulis, Lower, Vaupel, Webber, Farrington, Steven Johnson, Hall, O'Malley, Schroeder, Yancey, Wittenberg, Ellison, Lasinski, Robinson, Whitsett. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4922 before the committee: HB 4922 (Rep. Johnson) A bill to repeal 1899 PA 188, entitled "Michigan estate tax act," (MCL 205.201 to 205.256). Representative Hall moved to refer House Bill No. 4922 to the committee on Ways and Means. The motion prevailed 11-4-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
