- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ELECTIONS AND ETHICS REP. JULIE CALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, November 6, 2019 10:30 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Elections and Ethics was called to order by Chair Calley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Calley, Sheppard, Hornberger, Paquette, Guerra, Hope. Absent/Excused: Rep. Marino. Representative Hornberger moved to adopt the minutes from the October 30th, 2019 meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4703 before the committee: HB 4703 (Rep. Afendoulis) A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled" Michigan campaign finance act," by amending section 15 (MCL 169.215), as amended by 2015 PA 269. Representative Afendoulis testified in support of HB 4703. Jenita Moore representing Michigan Secretary of State, testified with a neutral position on HB 4703. Representative Hornberger moved to excuse Representative Marino from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
