- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS REP. BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, January 14, 2020 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by Chair Iden. The Clerk read the letter from Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lee Chatfield, making the following committee changes: I am appointing Representative Luke Meerman to replace Representative Wentworth on the Ways and Means Committee. I am appointing Representative Kyra Bolden to the Ways and Means Committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Meerman, Warren, Byrd, Hertel, Bolden. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Lilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from December 10, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5263 before the committee: HB 5263 (Rep. Miller) A bill to amend 1991 PA 179, entitled "Michigan telecommunications act," by amending section 316 (MCL 484.2316), as amended by 2011 PA 58. Representative Lilly moved to report out HB 5263 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Meerman, Warren, Byrd, Hertel, Bolden. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5263, but did not wish to speak: Gavin Goetz, representing AT&T. The Chair laid HB 5002 and HB 5003 before the committee: HB 5002 (Rep. Howell) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 43532a (MCL 324.43532a), as amended by 2013 PA 246. HB 5003 (Rep. Brixie) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 43532 (MCL 324.43532), as amended by 2016 PA 463. Representative Lilly moved to report out HB 5002 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
