SHANE HERNANDEZ CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, January 15, 2020 9:00 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Appropriations was called to order by the Chair Hernandez. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hernandez, Miller, Sheppard, Albert, Allor, Brann, VanSingel, Whiteford, Yaroch, Bollin, Glenn, Green, Huizenga, Lightner, Maddock, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Hoadley, Love, Hammoud, Peterson, Sabo, Anthony, Brixie, Cherry, Hood, Kennedy, Tate. Absent/Excused: Rep. Pagan. Representative Whiteford moved to adopt the meeting minutes from December 11, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid a presentation on the environmental contamination in Oakland County before the committee. Representative Hoadley moved to excuse Representative Pagan from the meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Liesl Cark, Director, along with Tracy Kerckemeti, and Mike Neller, all representing the Michigan Department of the Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, gave a presentation on environmental contamination in Oakland and Sanilac Counties. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Jim Ellison introduced the presenters from Oakland County and Madison Heights. Kathy Forzley, representing Oakland County Department of Health and Human Services, testified on the presentation. Dave Coulter, County Executive, representing Oakland County, testified on the presentation. Questions and discussion followed. Melissa Marsh, City Manager, representing City of Madison Heights, testified on the presentation. Roslyn Grafstein, Mayor Pro Tem, representing City of Madison Heights, testified on the presentation. Todd Hillman, Emergency Manager, representing Sanilac County, testified on the presentation. Questions and discussion followed. Greg Alexander, Drain Commissioner, representing Sanilac County, testified on the presentation Questions and discussion followed. Kurt Shubel, representing Marion Township, testified on the presentation. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Rep.
