The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Webber, Berman, Crawford, Farrington, Frederick, Hoitenga, Filler, Hall, Wendzel, Chirkun, Liberati, Cambensy, Jones, Garza. Absent/Excused: Rep. Robinson. The Chair laid HB 5315 before the committee: HB 5315 (Rep. Cambensy) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending section 513 (MCL 436.1513), as amended by 2018 PA 479. Representative Cambensy testified in support of HB 5315. Gavin Leach and Mike Bath, representing the Northern Michigan University, testified in support of HB 5315. David Ringler, representing Michigan Brewers Guild, testified in support of HB 5341, HB 5342, HB 5343, HB 5344, HB 5345, HB 5346, HB 5347, HB 5348, HB 5349, HB 5350, HB 5351, HB 5352, HB 5353, HB 5354 and HB 5355. Brett Visner, representing Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association, testified in support of HB 5341, HB 5342, HB 5343, HB 5344, HB 5345, HB 5346, HB 5347, HB 5348, HB 5349, HB 5350, HB 5351, HB 5352, HB 5353, HB 5354 and HB 5355. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in opposition to HB 5349 and HB 5352, but did not wish to speak: Shelly Stahl, representing Anheuser Busch. The following person submitted a card in opposition to HB 5351 and HB 5352, but did not wish to speak: Shelly Stahl, representing the Wine Institute. Representative Berman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from January 14, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 543 before the committee: SB 543 (Sen. VanderWall) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending section 701 (MCL 436.1701), as amended by 2010 PA 266. Representative Filler moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to SB 543. The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Representative Filler moved to refer Senate Bill No. 543 to the committee on Ways and Means, with recommendation as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 14-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Webber, Berman, Crawford, Farrington, Frederick, Hoitenga, Filler, Hall, Wendzel, Chirkun, Liberati, Cambensy, Jones, Garza. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Chirkun moved to excuse Representative Robinson from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
