MATT HALL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, February 6, 2020 10:30 AM Room 326, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Hall. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hall, Reilly, Webber, Steven Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, Camilleri, LaGrand. Absent/Excused: Rep. Cynthia Johnson. Representative Reilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from January 23, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Representative Reilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 5, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee the following: Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report Office of Aging and Adult Services Agency, Department of Health and Human Services, #391-0645-18, October 2019 The Chair made remarks regarding the audit report recommendations. Representative LaGrand motioned to adopt the House Oversight Committee Report Recommendations on the Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report on the Aging and Adult Services Agency. The motion prevailed 8-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hall, Reilly, Webber, Steven Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, Camilleri, LaGrand. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative LaFave motioned to refer the Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report Aging and Adult Services Agency, Department of Health, and Human Services to the committee on Families Children and Seniors. The motion prevailed 8-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hall, Reilly, Webber, Steven Johnson, LaFave, Schroeder, Camilleri, LaGrand. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 5426 and HB 5427 before the committee: HB 5426 (Rep. Hall) A bill to amend 2017 PA 132, entitled "Cyber civilian corps act," by amending sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (MCL 18.222, 18.223, 18.224, 18.225, 18.226, and 18.227). HB 5427 (Rep. VanWoerkom) A bill to amend 2017 PA 132, entitled "Cyber civilian corps act," by amending sections 9 and 10 (MCL 18.229 and 18.230). At 10:42 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. Chair Hall handed the gavel over to Vice Chair Reilly. At 10:43 AM, the Majority Vice Chair John Reilly called the committee back to order. Chair Hall testified in support of HB 5426 and HB 5427. Questions and discussion followed. Laura Clark and Bree Anderson, representing the Michigan Department of Management and Budget, testified in support of HB 5426 and HB 5427. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5426 and HB 5427, but did not wish to speak: David Worthams, representing the Michigan Bankers Association. Representative LaFave moved to excuse Representative Cynthia Johnson from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Majority Vice Chair. John Reilly adjourned the meeting at 10:51 AM.
