JACK O'MALLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 18, 2020 10:30 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Standing Committee on Transportation was called to order by Chair O'Malley. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Cole, Sheppard, Alexander, Bellino, Howell, Afendoulis, Sneller, Clemente, Yancey, Haadsma, Shannon. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Sheppard moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 11, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4170 before the committee: HB 4170 (Rep. Kahle) A bill to amend 2001 PA 142, entitled "Michigan memorial highway act," (MCL 250.1001 to 250.2080) by adding section 6b. Representative Kahle testified in support of HB 4170. Representative Alexander moved to refer House Bill No. 4170 to the committee on Ways and Means. The motion prevailed 12-0-1: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Cole, Sheppard, Alexander, Bellino, Howell, Afendoulis, Sneller, Clemente, Haadsma, Shannon. Nays: None. Pass: Rep. Yancey. The following people submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 4170, but did not wish to speak: Mark Polsdofer, representing the Michigan Department of Transportation. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4170, but did not wish to speak: Sergeant Nicole McGhee, representing the Michigan State Police. The Chair laid HB 4475 before the committee: HB 4475 (Rep. Elder) A bill to amend 2001 PA 142, entitled "Michigan memorial highway act," (MCL 250.1001 to 250.2081) by adding section 1090. Representative Elder and Representative Wakeman, joined by Ann Gould, mother of Sergeant Kristopher Gould, all testified in support of HB 4475. Representative Howell moved to refer House Bill No. 4475 to the committee on Ways and Means. The motion prevailed 12-0-1: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
