HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS REP. BRANDT IDEN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, February 20, 2020 10:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Standing Committee on Ways and Means was called to order by Chair Iden. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Iden, Lilly, Leutheuser, Griffin, Hauck, Kahle, Meerman, Warren, Byrd, Hertel, Bolden. Absent/Excused: None. Representative Lilly moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 19, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4340 before the committee: HB 4340 (Rep. Reilly) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 40112 (MCL 324.40112), as amended by 2015 PA 12. Adam de Angeli, representing Representative Reilly's Office, testified in support of HB 4340. Amy Trotter, representing Michigan United Conservation Clubs, testified in support of HB 4340. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4340, but did not wish to speak: Jim Pryce, representing the Tri-County Sportsmen's League. Jim Wale, representing the Michigan State United Coonhunters Association. Dave Johnson, representing the UP Sportsmen's Association. Joe Hudson, representing the UP Bear Houndsmen Association. Roger Thorman, representing the Michigan Fox Hunters Association. Tim Dusterwinkle, representing the Michigan Bear Hunters Association. Mike Thorman, representing the Michigan Hunting Dog Federation. Dale Hendershot, representing the Michigan Trappers and Predator Callers Association. The following people submitted a card in opposition to HB 4340, but did not wish to speak: Merissa Kovach, representing the ACLU of Michigan.
