- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON INSURANCE REP. MIKE HARRIS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Insurance was called to order by Chair Harris. The Clerk read a letter dated January 30th, 2025, from House Speaker Matt Hall which appointed members of the Committee on Insurance. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Harris, Tisdel, Lightner, Posthumus, Aragona, Neyer, Schuette, Brenda Carter, Tate, Whitsett and Fitzgerald. Absent: None. Excused: None. Chair Harris stated that the House Committee on Insurance will follow the Uniform Committee Rules, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor Chair Harris offered the following proposed committee rule: At the discretion of the committee chair, a member of the public may address the committee regarding business before the committee. The committee may accept written testimony in lieu of oral testimony. Representative Tisdel moved to adopt the proposed committee rule. The motion prevailed 10-0- 0: The motion prevailed 10-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Harris, Tisdel, Lightner, Aragona, Neyer, Schuette, Brenda Carter, Tate, Whitsett and Fitzgerald. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Aragona moved to adopt Wednesday at 12:00 PM in room 521 of the House Office Building as the standing day, time, and location of the House Insurance Committee. The motion prevailed 10-0-0: Wednesday, February 19, 2025 Noon. Room 521, House Office Building FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Harris, Tisdel, Lightner, Aragona, Neyer, Schuette, Brenda Carter, Tate, Whitsett and Fitzgerald. Nays: None. Pass: None. Tom Humphreys, CPCU, ARM, CLU, ChFC, CIC, gave a presentation on Insurance 101. Questions and discussions followed.
