MICHAEL WEBBER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, June 16, 2020 8:30 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Webber. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Webber, Berman, Crawford, Farrington, Frederick, Hoitenga, Filler, Hall, Wendzel, Chirkun, Liberati, Cynthia Neeley. Absent: Reps. Cambensy, Jones, Garza. Excused: Reps. Cambensy, Jones, Garza. Representative Berman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 3, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4437 before the committee: HB 4437 (Rep. Wakeman) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," by amending sections 1801, 1803, 1804, 1806, and 1809 (MCL 339.1801, 339.1803, 339.1804, 339.1806, and 339.1809), section 1801 as amended by 2006 PA 300 and section 1806 as amended by 2013 PA 80, and by adding section 1806b. Substitute (H-4) was previously adopted on May 13, 2020. Representative Frederick moved to adopt substitute (H-5) to HB 4437. The motion prevailed 12-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Webber, Berman, Crawford, Farrington, Frederick, Hoitenga, Filler, Hall, Wendzel, Chirkun, Liberati, Cynthia Neeley. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following person submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 4437, but did not wish to speak: Vern Pixley, representing the Service Corporation International. Representative Frederick moved to refer HB 4437 to the Committee on Ways and Means, with recommendation as substitute (H-5). The motion prevailed 12-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Isaac Hartman, representing the New Holland Brewing Co., testified in support of SB 665.
