SHANE HERNANDEZ CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 24, 2020 10:00 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Appropriations was called to order by Chair Hernandez. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hernandez, Miller, Sheppard, Albert, Allor, Brann, VanSingel, Whiteford, Yaroch, Bollin, Glenn, Green, Huizenga, Lightner, Maddock, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Hoadley, Love, Pagan, Hammoud, Peterson, Sabo, Anthony, Brixie, Cherry, Hood, Kennedy, Tate. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Green moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 17, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5842 before the committee: HB 5842 (Rep. Albert) A bill to amend 1980 PA 300, entitled "The public school employees retirement act of 1979," by amending sections 59 and 84b (MCL 38.1359 and 38.1384b), section 59 as amended by 2012 PA 359 and section 84b as amended by 2018 PA 169. Representative Albert testified on the bill. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid Legislative Transfer Request 2020-5 before the committee. Mary Ann Cleary representing the House Fiscal Agency testified on the Legislative Transfer Request. At 10:15 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 10:19 AM, the Chair called the committee back to order. Representative Glenn moved to approve Legislative Transfer Request 2020-5. The motion prevailed 29-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hernandez, Miller, Sheppard, Albert, Allor, Brann, VanSingel, Whiteford, Yaroch, Bollin, Glenn, Green, Huizenga, Lightner, Maddock, Slagh, VanWoerkom, Hoadley, Love, Pagan, Hammoud, Peterson, Sabo, Anthony, Brixie, Cherry, Hood, Kennedy, Tate. Nays: None. Pass: None. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Shane Hernandez adjourned the meeting at 10:20 AM.
