KATHY CRAWFORD CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, December 2, 2020 9:15 a.m. Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Families, Children, and Seniors was called to order by the Chair. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Crawford, Rendon, Farrington, Hoitenga, Wozniak, Garrett, Liberati, Cynthia Johnson. Absent: Rep. Brenda Carter. Excused: Rep. Brenda Carter. Representative Rendon moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 15, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HR 314 before the committee: HR 314 (Rep. Bollin) A resolution to affirm the right of patients and families to direct health care decisions. Representative Ann Bollin, the resolution sponsor, explained the resolution and introduced Genevieve Maron from Michigan Right to Life, who testified in support of HR 314. Questions followed. Copies of their written testimony is attached. The Chair laid HB 6124 before the committee: HB 6124 (Rep. Hall) A bill to amend 1981 PA 180, entitled "Older Michiganians act," (MCL 400.581 to 400.594) by adding section 6l. The House Committee on Families, Children and Seniors heard testimony on September 15, 2020 for HB 6124. The Chair explained the (H-1) substitute for HB 6124. Representative Farrington moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 6124. The motion prevailed 7-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
