MICHAEL WEBBER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, September 10, 2020 9:45 AM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Webber. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Webber, Berman, Crawford, Farrington, Frederick, Hoitenga, Filler, Hall, Wendzel, Chirkun, Liberati, Cambensy, Jones, Cynthia Neeley. Absent: Rep. Garza. Excused: Rep. Garza. Representative Berman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 1, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 897 before the committee: SB 897 (Sen. LaSata) A bill to amend 1998 PA 58, entitled "Michigan liquor control code of 1998," by amending section 536 (MCL 436.1536), as amended by 2019 PA 131. Senator LaSata testified in support of SB 897. Matt Moersch, representing the Round Barn Distillery, testified in support of SB 897. The following people submitted a card in support of SB 897, but did not wish to speak: David Marvin, representing the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. Representative Webber testified in support of HB 6190. Matt Watson and Brian Bayer, representing the Gold Fish Swim School, testified in support of HB 6190. Questions and discussion followed. Gay-Dagnogo) A bill to amend 2011 PA 256, entitled "Michigan fireworks safety act," by amending section 7 (MCL 28.457), as amended by 2018 PA 635. Representative Chirkun moved to excuse Representative Garza from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
