BEAU M LAFAVE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, December 2, 2020 5:32 PM Room 352, House Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Military, Veterans and Homeland Security was called to order by the Chair LaFave. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. LaFave, Mueller, Afendoulis, Markkanen, Jones, Tyrone Carter, Manoogian. Absent: Reps. Marino, Chirkun. Excused: Reps. Marino, Chirkun. Representative Jones moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 15, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5601 before the committee: HB 5601 (Rep. Vaupel) A bill to amend 1967 PA 150, entitled "Michigan military act," by amending section 182 (MCL 32.582). Representative Vaupel and David Mester, a veteran, testified on the bill. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Tyrone Carter moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 5601.
