BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 5, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 4:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adoption of 2019-2020 Committee Rules. 2. A hearing to consider the appointment of Paul Ajegba as the Director of the Michigan Department of Transportation. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Lucido, Sen.(s) LaSata, Nesbitt, McBroom, and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Lucido, Sen.(s) LaSata, Nesbitt, McBroom, and Hertel Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chairman invited Mr. Paul Ajegba to provide the committee with his opening statements. The Chairman allowed committee members to ask questions regarding the appointment of Mr. Paul Ajegba as the Director of the Michigan Department of Transportation. The following cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding the appointment of Mr. Paul Ajegba as the Director of the Michigan Department of Transportation: Lance Binoniemi, Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association – Support Ron Khoury, Operating Engineers Local 342 – Support Jon Cool, Michigan Railroads Association – Support Doug Needham, Michigan Aggregates Association – Support Dan DeGraff, Michigan Concrete Association – Support Ron DeCook, DeCook GPS – Support Ode Udegbunam, Citizen – Support Kirk A. Branson, Michigan Department of Transportation – Support Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the meeting.
