BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 6, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors, and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at 4:00 p.m., in Rooms 402/403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Presentation by the Michigan Department of Military and Veteran Affairs on Veteran Service Organizations and County Service Grants. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Bullock, and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Bullock to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Bullock, and Alexander Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chairman invited, Tim Loney, Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, and Rob Price, Director of Targeted Outreach with the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, to give a presentation on Veteran Service Organizations and county service grants. The Chairman made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Zorn was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the committee.
