BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 7, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Thursday, February 7, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Presentation by the Michigan Association of Health Plans regarding Health Insurance. 3. Presentation by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan regarding Health Insurance. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the Committee Rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. At 1:04 p.m., the Chair called for the committee to go at ease. At 1:06 p.m., the Chair reconvened the committee. The Chair invited Dominick Pallone, of the Michigan Association of Health Plans, to give a presentation regarding health insurance. The Chair invited Mark Cook, of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, to give a presentation regarding health insurance.
