BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2420 FAX: (517) 373-2764 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 20, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Banking was scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. 2. Presentation by the Insurance Alliance of Michigan. 3. Presentation by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. 4. Presentation by Amerisure. The Chairwoman called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairwoman Theis, Sen.(s) Lauwers, LaSata, Nesbitt, Daley, Barrett, Horn, Geiss, Bullock, and McMorrow, a quorum was present. The Chairwoman entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to adopt the meeting minutes from February 13, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairwoman invited Chris Mitchell and Laura Appel, of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, to give a presentation on solutions involving medical payments made under Michigan’s no-fault auto insurance laws. The Chairwoman invited Tricia Kinley, of the Insurance Alliance of Michigan, to give a presentation on solutions involving medical payments made under Michigan’s no-fault auto insurance laws. The Chairwoman invited Rich Studley and Wendy Block, of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, to give a presentation on solutions involving medical payments made under Michigan’s no-fault auto insurance laws. The Chairwoman invited Kurt Gallenger, of Amerisure, to give a presentation on solutions involving medical payments made under Michigan’s no-fault auto insurance laws. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairwoman moved to adjourn the committee.
