BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 27, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A hearing to consider the appointment of Daniel Eichinger as the Director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. 2. A hearing to consider the appointment of Robert Gordon as the Director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Lucido, Sen.(s) LaSata, Nesbitt, McBroom, and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from February 21, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Daniel Eichinger to provide the committee with his opening statements. Member questions followed. The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding the appointment of Daniel Eichinger as the Director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources: Nick Occhipinti, Michigan League of Conservation Voters – Support Amy Trotter, Michigan United Conservation Clubs – Support Mike Shriberg, National Wildlife Federation – Support Paul Rose, Michigan United Conservation Clubs Past Presidents – Support Leon Hank, Quality Deer Management Association – Support Carol Rose, Upper Black River Council – Support William Houston, Montmorency County Conservation Club – Support Chris Kettler, Michigan Trappers and Predator Callers Association – Support David Brakhage, Ducks Unlimited – Support Erik Schnelle, Quality Deer Management Association – Support Tim Dusterwinkle, Michigan Bear Hunters Association – Support Don Kimmel, Michigan B.A.S.S. Member questions followed. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the meeting.
