BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 28, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by PhRMA State Advocacy regarding Pharmaceuticals. 2. Presentation by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and MichBio regarding Pharmaceuticals. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, Santana, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from February 21, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Peter Fotos, the Senior Regional Director for PhRMA State Advocacy, to give a presentation regarding pharmaceuticals. At 1:25 p.m., Sen. Hertel entered the meeting. The Chair invited Greg Hoke, of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, and Stephen Rapundalo, of MichBio, to give a presentation regarding pharmaceuticals. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
