BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1777 FAX: (517) 373-5871 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 7, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Agriculture was scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary was as follows: 1. Introduction of Director Gary McDowell, of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development 2. Presentation by Rebecca Park and Matt Smego, of the Michigan Farm Bureau, regarding legislative priorities for the 2019-2020 legislative session 3. Presentation by Matt Stutzman, of the Michigan Soybean Association, and Laura Isley and Kathy Maurer, of the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee, regarding legislative priorities for the 2019- 2020 legislative session 4. Presentation by Angel Jenio and Scott Miller, of the Michigan Corn Growers Association, regarding legislative priorities for the 2019-2020 legislative session 5. Presentation by Ken Nobis and Sheila Burkhardt, of the Michigan Milk Producers Association, and Regina Kopera, of Kroger Michigan Dairy, regarding legislative priorities for the 2019-2020 legislative session The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Daley, Sen.(s) Victory, Lauwers, Ananich, and Polehanki; a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Ananich to adopt the meeting minutes from February 7, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. The Chairman invited Director Gary McDowell, of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, to introduce himself to the committee members.
