HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS REP. MIKE HOADLEY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, October 30, 2025 10:30 AM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Economic Competitiveness was called to order by Chair Hoadley. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, BeGole, DeBoyer, St. Germaine, Grant, Brixie, Tate and Coffia. Absent: Rep. Harris. Excused: Rep. Harris. Representative BeGole moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 23, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4913, HB 4914, HB 4915 and HB 4933 before the committee: HB 4913 (Rep. Bohnak) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," by amending section 2004 (MCL 339.2004), as amended by 2016 PA 435. HB 4914 (Rep. Outman) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," by amending section 2010 (MCL 339.2010), as amended by 1992 PA 103. HB 4915 (Rep. Maddock) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 16149. HB 4933 (Rep. Steele) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," by amending sections 303a and 411 (MCL 339.303a and 339.411), section 303a as amended by 2014 PA 265 and section 411 as amended by 2020 PA 388; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. Representative Bohnak moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4913. The motion prevailed 6-4-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, BeGole, DeBoyer and St. Germaine. Nays: Reps. Fairbairn) A bill to amend 1980 PA 299, entitled "Occupational code," by amending sections 1108 and 1110 (MCL 339.1108 and 339.1110), section 1108 as amended by 2021 PA 101 and section 1110 as amended by 2020 PA 27. Representative Bohnak moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4927. The motion prevailed 10-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, BeGole, DeBoyer, St. Germaine, Grant, Brixie, Tate and Coffia. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Bohnak moved to report out HB 4927 with recommendation that the substitute (H-1) be adopted. The committee further recommended that the bill and substitute (H-1) be referred to the Committee on Rules. The motion prevailed 10-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. The motion prevailed 8-1-1: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, BeGole, DeBoyer, St. Germaine, Grant and Brixie. Nays: Rep. Tate. Pass: Rep. Coffia. Representative St. Germaine moved to report out HB 4933 with recommendation that the substitute (H-1) be adopted. The committee further recommended that the bill and substitute (H-1) be referred to the Committee on Rules. The motion prevailed 6-2-2: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Hoadley, Bohnak, Outman, BeGole, DeBoyer and St. Germaine. Nays: Reps. Brixie and Tate. Pass: Reps. Grant and Coffia. Representative BeGole moved to excuse Representative Harris from the meeting. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Hoadley adjourned the meeting at 10:50 AM.
