BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7670 FAX: (517) 373-5958 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 14, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 12:00 noon, in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A hearing to consider the appointment of Dan Scrips to the Michigan Public Service Commission. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lucido, Sen.(s) LaSata, Nesbitt, McBroom, and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from March 7, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Dan Scripps to provide the committee with his opening statements. The Chair invited committee members to ask questions regarding the appointment of Dan Scripps to the Michigan Public Service Commission. At 12:56 p.m., Sen. Hertel left the meeting and did not return. The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding the appointment of Dan Scripps to the Michigan Public Service Commission: Tim Minotas, Michigan Sierra Club – Support Nick Occhipinti, Michigan League of Conservation Voters – Support David Palsrock, Citizen – Support Kevin Borgia, Cypress Creek Renewables – Support Ed Rivet, Michigan Conservative Energy Forum – Support Mike Alaimo, Clean Fuels Michigan – Support Page 1 of 2 Alexis Blizman, Ecology Center – Support Martin Kushler, American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the meeting.
