BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3543 FAX: (517) 373-0927 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 11, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 173 (Sen. Stamas) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 19 (Sen. Zorn) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s), Johnson, Daley, Alexander, and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chairman read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 173: Mark Polsdofer, Michigan Department of Transportation – No Position Given The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to report SB 173 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, Alexander, and Moss Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chairman made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 173. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to report SB 19 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, and Alexander Nays: Sen. Moss The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chairman made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 19. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
