- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON HEALTH POLICY REP. CURTIS VANDERWALL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair VanderWall. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. VanderWall, Thompson, Meerman, Tisdel, Bierlein, DeBoer, Prestin, Schmaltz, St. Germaine, Bohnak, Frisbie, Brenda Carter, Witwer, Hoskins and Foreman. Absent: Reps. Whitsett and Neeley. Excused: Reps. Whitsett and Neeley. Representative DeBoer moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 19, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4032 before the committee: The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4032, but did not wish to speak: Adam Majestic, representing the Detroit Regional Chamber. Elizabeth Kutter, representing the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. Representative Schmaltz moved to report out HB 4032 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 15-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. VanderWall, Thompson, Meerman, Tisdel, Bierlein, DeBoer, Prestin, Schmaltz, St. Germaine, Bohnak, Frisbie, Brenda Carter, Witwer, Hoskins and Foreman. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid a presentation from the Michigan Health and Hospitals Association before the committee. Wednesday, February 26, 2025 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building HB 4032 (Rep. Linting) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 16189 (MCL 333.16189), as amended by 2022 PA 38. Elizabeth Kutter, representing the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, joined by Deidra Wilson and Maureen D'Agostino, representing McLaren Health Care, and Ben Frederick and Dr. Joseph Monroe, representing Memorial Healthcare, gave a presentation on the 340b program. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid a presentation from PhRMA before the committee. Kelly Ryan, representing PhRMA, gave a presentation on the 340b program. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Bohnak moved to excuse Reps. Whitsett and Neeley from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair VanderWall adjourned the meeting at 10:26 AM.
