BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 8, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4152 (Rep. Johnson) and HB 4153 (Rep. Guerra). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Johnson, Zorn, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. B Alexander to adopt the meeting minutes from March 13, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Rep. Steve Johnson and Rep. Vanessa Guerra to summarize HBs 4152 and 4153. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4152 and HB 4153: Jeff Duncan and Tammy Weaver, State Registrar and Assistant State Registrar – Neutral The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4152 and HB 4153: Mark McWilliams, Michigan Protectoin and Advocacy Service – Support Meaghan Keit, Michigan Association of Counties – Support Bill Zaagman, Michigan Association of County Clerks – Support The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection Sens. Barrett and Runestad were excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
