BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3543 FAX: (517) 373-0927 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 16, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4119 (Rep. Meerman) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported HB 4055 (Rep. Slagh) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s), Johnson, Alexander, and Moss; a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the meeting minutes from April 11 and May 9, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman brought up HB 4119. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to report HB 4119 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s), Johnson, Alexander, and Moss Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chairman moved to recommend immediate effect for HB 4119. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chairman brought up HB 4055. The card was read of the individual not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4055: Todd Potter, Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association - support. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to report HB 4055 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s), Johnson, Alexander, and Moss Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 1 of 2 The Chairman moved to recommend immediate effect for HB 4055. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chairman moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Daley was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourned the committee.
