BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1758 FAX: (517) 373-0938 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 22, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance was scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4121 (S-1) (Rep. Byrd) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Runestad, Sen.(s) Nesbitt, Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, Chang and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from May 15, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman brought up HB 4121. The following cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4121: Becky Gean, Michigan Realtors – support. Steve Bieda, Michigan Department of Treasury – support. Rachel Richards, Michigan League for Public Policy – support. The Chairman offered an (S-1) to HB 4121 and summarized the (S-1). The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Nesbitt to adopt the (S-1) version of HB 4121. The vote was a follows: Yeas: Chairman Runestad, Sen.(s) Nesbitt, Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, and Alexander Nays: None Pass: Senator Chang The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Chang to report HB 4121 (S-1) to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Runestad, Sen.(s) Nesbitt, Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, Chang and Alexander Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chairman moved to recommend immediate effect for HB 4121. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman moved to adjourn the meeting. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 12:35 p.m. Date Adopted by Committee: 06/19/2019
