Gast Senate Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation regarding Michigan's Cybersecurity. 2. Discussion regarding SB 298 (Sen. MacGregor). The Chairman called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present; Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, MacGregor, Barrett, Bizon, LaSata, MacDonald, Outman, Runestad, Schmidt, Victory, Hertel, Hollier, Irwin, Santana, McCann and Bayer, a quorum was present. The Chairman made a motion, supported by Sen. Bumstead, to excuse absent members from the committee meeting. Without objection, Sen. Nesbitt was excused. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. MacGregor, supported by Sen. Bizon, to adopt the committee meeting minutes from April 30, 2019 and May 1, 2019 . Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen. MacGregor, Saba Gebrai of the Parkwest Foundation, and student, Diandre Holmes, to summarize SB 298. The Chairman invited Matt Gillard of Michigan's Children to testify in support of SB 298. The Chairman read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify regarding SB 298: Steve Bieda, Department of Treasury – Support Rachael Richards, Michigan League for Public Policy – Support Next, the Chairman invited Chris DeRusha, Chief Security Officer of the Departments of Technology, Management and Budget, Brigadier General Michael Stone of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and Lieutenant Aric Dowling of the Michigan State Police, for a presentation on Michigan's cybersecurity. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman made a motion, supported by Sen. Bumstead, to adjourn the meeting at 2:55 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
