BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3543 FAX: (517) 373-0927 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 6, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 1:30 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 322 (S-1) (Sen. Victory) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 323 (S-1) (Sen. Victory) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 1:32 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s) Daley, Alexander, and Moss; a quorum was present. At 1:33 p.m., Sen. Johnson entered the meeting. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to adopt the meeting minutes from May 23, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman offered an amendment to SB 322, identified as amendment #1, and summarized the amendment. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Alexander to adopt amendment #1 to SB 322. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s) Daley, Alexander, and Moss. Nays: Senator Johnson The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to report SB 322, as amended, as a clean substitute, to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Zorn, Sen.(s) Daley, Alexander, and Moss. Nays: Senator Johnson The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chairman moved to recommend immediate effect for SB 322. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chairman offered an amendment to SB 323, identified as amendment #1, and summarized the amendment. Page 1 of 2 The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to adopt amendment #1 to SB 323.
