BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 4, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 466 (Sen. Bizon) 2. Testimony regarding SB 467 (Sen. Bullock) 3. Testimony regarding SB 468 (Sen. Bizon) 4. Testimony regarding SB 469 (Sen. Bullock) 5. Testimony regarding HB 4549 (Rep. Crawford) 6. Testimony regarding HB 4550 (Rep. Carter) The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett to adopt the meeting minutes from June 5, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 466-469. Sen. John Bizon, M.D., Michigan Senate – Support Sen. Marshall Bullock, Michigan Senate – Support Sarah Goad, MDHHS – Support Stacie Bladen, MDHHS – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding 4549-4550. Rep. Kathy Crawford, Michigan House of Representatives – Support Rep. Brenda Carter, Michigan House of Representatives – Support The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Zorn was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
