HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. BRIAN BEGOLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, November 6, 2025 9:00 AM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair BeGole. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. BeGole, Harris, VanderWall, Fitzgerald and McFall. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative McFall moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 30, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4757 before the committee: HB 4757 (Rep. Slagh) A bill to amend 1943 PA 20, entitled "An act relative to the investment of funds of public corporations of the state; and to validate certain investments," by amending sections 1, 5, 7, and 7a (MCL 129.91, 129.95, 129.97, and 129.97a), section 1 as amended by 2012 PA 152, section 5 as added by 1997 PA 196, section 7 as added by 2008 PA 220, and section 7a as added by 2008 PA 404. Representative Slagh testified in support of HB 4757. John Globensky, City Treasurer of Grand Rapids, testified in support of HB 4757. Questions and discussion followed. HB 4806 (Rep. Posthumus) A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled "Michigan vehicle code," by amending section 811j (MCL 257.811j), as amended by 2006 PA 562. HB 4807 (Rep. Posthumus) A bill to amend 1982 PA 250, entitled "Child abuse and neglect prevention act," by amending the title and sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 12 (MCL 722.602, 722.603, 722.604, 722.609, 722.610, and 722.612), section 2 as amended by 2018 PA 60 and section 4 as amended by 2005 PA 82. HB 4808 (Rep. Posthumus) A bill to amend 1976 PA 267, entitled "Open meetings act," by amending section 3a (MCL 15.263a), as amended by 2023 PA 214. Representative Harris moved to report out SB 349 with recommendation that the bill be referred to the Committee on Education and Workforce. The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
