BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 16, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources was scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4018 (Rep. Allor). 2. Testimony regarding HB 105 (Rep. VanderWall). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman McBroom, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Outman, Schmidt, and McCann, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion from Sen. Bumstead to adopt the committee meeting minutes from June 19, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. Allor to summarize HB 4018. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4018: Craig Brunet, Michigan Department of Natural Resources - support. Member questions followed. Seth Herbst, Michigan Department of Natural Resources Fisheries – support. Member questions followed. Brenda Archambo, Sturgeon for Tomorrow – support. Member questions followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4018: Gil Archambo, Citizen – support. Nick Occhipinti, Michigan League of Conservation Voters – support. Next on the agenda was SB 105 (Sen. VanderWall). The Chair invited Sen. VanderWall to summarize SB 105. Member questions followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding SB 105: Nick Occhipinti, Michigan League of Conservation Voters – oppose. Sarah Howes, Environment, Great Lakes and Energy – oppose, working with sponsor. Sean Hammond, Michigan Environmental Council – oppose.
