BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 23, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 125 (Sen. Barrett). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4108 (Rep. Hauck). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4128 (Rep. Miller). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett to adopt the meeting minutes from October 2, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 125: Senator Tom Barrett – Support Jordan Kingdon, Michigan Credit Union League – Support David Worthams, Michigan Bankers Association – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4108: Sue Talley, Michigan Physical Therapy Association – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4108: Rebecca Mastee, Michigan Catholic Conference – Support Mary Pollock, American Assoc. of University Women – Support Colin Peaks, Michigan Dept. of Health and Human Services CPS Program Office – Neutral The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4128: Representative Aaron Miller, Michigan House of Representatives – Support The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Zorn was excused from the meeting. Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
