BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3447 FAX: (517) 373-5849 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 30, 2019 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure was scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 517 (Sen. Bizon). 2. Testimony regarding SB 520 (Sen. Outman). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:32 p.m. He instructed the clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Geiss and Bullock, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Hollier was excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from October 23, 2019. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Bizon to summarize SB 517. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 517: Mark Polsdofer and Aarne Frobom, Michigan Department of Transportation – Support Tom Weston, HNTB Corporate – Support Baruch Feigenbaum, Reason Foundation – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 517: Ed Noyola, County Road Association – Neutral Page 1 of 2 The Chair invited Sen. Outman to summarize SB 520. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 520: Ed Noyola, County Road Association – Support Mark Polsdofer, Michigan Department of Transportation – Neutral The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 520: John LaMacchia, Michigan Municipal League – Oppose There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
