- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. JERRY NEYER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, November 13, 2025 10:30 AM Room 308, House Office Building The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Neyer. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Paiz, Dievendorf, Rheingans and Skaggs. Absent: Rep. Pavlov. Excused: Rep. Pavlov. Representative Alexander moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 30, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4917 before the committee: HB 4917 (Rep. Smit) A bill to amend 2001 PA 267, entitled "Manufacturing milk law of 2001," by amending section 157 (MCL 288.717). Representative Lightner moved to report out HB 4917 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 6-2-2: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox and Kunse. Nays: Reps. Rheingans and Skaggs. Pass: Reps. Paiz and Dievendorf. The Chair laid a presentation from Michigan Apples before the committee. Diane Smith, the Executive Director of Michigan Apples, gave a presentation on Michigan's Apple Industry. Question and discussion followed. Representative Alexander moved to excuse Representative Pavlov from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
