BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7946 FAX: (517) 373-2678 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 5, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Appropriations was scheduled for Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Senate Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 595 (Sen. Schmidt) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present; Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, MacGregor, Bizon, LaSata, MacDonald, Outman, Runestad, Schmidt, Hertel, Irwin, Santana, McCann, and Bayer, a quorum was present. The Chairman moved, supported by Sen. Bumstead, to excuse absent members from the committee meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Barrett, Nesbitt, Hollier, Victory, and Hollier were excused. The Chairman entertained a motion from Sen. Bumstead, supported by Sen. Hertel, to adopt the amended committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, MacGregor, Bizon, LaSata, MacDonald, Outman, Runestad, Schmidt, Hertel, Irwin, Santana, McCann and Bayer Nays: None The committee rules were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen. Schmidt and Gabe Schneider of TART (Traverse Area Recreational Trail) to summarize SB 695 for the committee. The Chairman entertained a motion from Sen. MacGregor, supported by Sen. Outman, to report SB 695 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, MacGregor, Bizon, LaSata, MacDonald, Outman, Runestad, Schmidt, Hertel, Irwin, Santana, McCann and Bayer Nays: None The bill was reported. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen MacDonald, supported by Sen. Runestad to recommend immediate effect for SB 695. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. There being no further business before the committee, the Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Hertel, supported by the Chairman, to adjourn the committee.
