BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 6, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 612 (Sen. VanderWall). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from January 30, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 612: Donna Baker Miller and Barbara Moore, MCG Health – Neutral Dominick Pallone and Dr. Peter Graham, Michigan Association of Health Plans – Oppose Kathy Jo Uecker, Michigan/National Medical Group Managers – Support Mark Cook and Dr. Marc Keshishian, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Oppose Dr. Dennis Ramus, Michigan State Medical Society – Support Dr. Harold Moores, Emergency Care Specialists – Support Brian O'Connell, General Motors – Oppose The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 612: Kelly McGivern, Molina Healthcare – Oppose Jacquelen Timm, Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners – Support Dr. Perry Pernicano, Michigan Radiological Society – Support The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Santana was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
