BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7946 FAX: (517) 373-2678 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 19, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Appropriations was scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Senate Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget Update & 2020-2021 Budget Recommendations by Attorney General Dana Nessel. 2. SB 592 (Sen. McBroom) was removed from the agenda. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present; Chairman Bumstead, Sen.(s) MacGregor, Bizon, LaSata, MacDonald, Nesbitt, Schmidt, Victory, Hertel, Hollier, Irwin, McCann, and Bayer, a quorum was present. The Chairman moved, supported by Sen. MacGregor, to excuse absent members from the committee meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Stamas and Runestad were excused. The Chairman entertained a motion from Sen. MacGregor, supported by Sen. Bizon, to adopt the committee meeting minutes from January, 15, 2020, February 5, 2020, and January 6, 2020. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Bumstead, Sen.(s) MacGregor, Bizon, LaSata, MacDonald, Nesbitt, Schmidt, Victory, Hertel, Hollier, Irwin, McCann, and Bayer Nays: None The committee minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Attorney General Dana Nessel to give the committee a 2019-2020 budget update for the committee. Sen.(s) Barrett, Outman, and Santana arrived at 2:03 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., Chairman Bumstead handed the gavel over to Sen. MacGregor before he left the meeting. Chairman MacGregor invited Attorney General Dana Nessel to give the committee an overview of the 2020- 2021 budget recommendations. Due to time constraints, SB 592 (Sen. McBroom) was removed from the committee's agenda. The Chairman made a motion, supported by Sen. MacDonald, to adjourn the committee.
