BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1760 FAX: (517) 373-3487 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 20, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Small Business Development was scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 12:00 noon, in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4816 (Rep. Brandt Iden). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, MacGregor, Theis, Lauwers, Schmidt, McMorrow, Geiss and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the meeting minutes from February 6, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4816: State Representative Brandt Iden, Michigan House of Representatives – Support Ron Kitchens and Joe Agostinelli, Southwest Michigan First – Support Marci Cisneros, Grand Haven Area CVB – Oppose The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4816: Justin Winslow, Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association – Oppose Goeff Hansen, Muskegon City and Parkland Properties – Oppose Sally Laukitis, Holland Convention and Visitors Bureau – Oppose David Worthams, Michigan Bankers Association – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
